As she watched, chocolate, candies, and other treats spilled out onto the grass, signaling the impending satisfaction of her sweet tooth. But when the piñata finally broke apart, something far more desirable fell out: a pair of shiny silver balls. Her heart raced as she bent down to pick them up, her fingers brushing against the smooth metal as she palmed them in her hand.
